Sentinel Federal Credit Union is seeking a experienced and motivated individual to join the team as a Chief Financial Officer. This role is responsible for the planning, implementation, managing and running of all the finance activities of the Credit Union, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting and negotiations, overseeing the activities of the human resource, accounting, and operations departments.

Key Responsibilities Include:
• Responsible for developing short- and long-term financial objectives to achieve revenue growth and other objectives of the Credit Union.
• Develop and implement systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting financial information.
• Oversee investments, business planning, budgeting, expenditures, forecasting and negotiations.
• Proactively address issues with staff as they occur regardless of area of responsibility. Be available to mentor managers and/or staff in problem resolution.
• Foster an environment of honest and constructive communication. Communicate plans and actions that impact other departments in a timely manner.
• Promote an atmosphere of cooperation so that business results are achieved.
• Ensure timely completion of projects and initiatives. Ensure direct staff is completing work assignments in a timely and correct manner.
• Review and evaluate project feasibility studies based on overall requirements, priorities and cost constraints.
• Assist with recommendations for hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, performance appraisals, training and development, and interpretation of Credit Union rules and policies for department personnel. Conduct all personnel functions in accordance with applicable states (e.g. EEO, OSHA, Fair Labor, etc.)
• Update job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
• Actively supervise, schedule, manage, train, and mentor the employees employed in your chain of command.
• Treat all credit union members and employees with a positive and cooperative attitude. Set a standard of excellence for all staff to follow. Ensure the CU’s professional reputation and appropriate levels of confidentiality are maintained.
Job Knowledge Requirements:
• Advanced knowledge of the credit union’s products and services.
• Working knowledge of organization’s policies, procedures, and service philosophy.
• Proficiency with accounting software, word processing, and spreadsheets.
• Solid GAAP and financial reporting technical skills.
• Advanced analytical knowledge pertaining to decision analysis and financial/budget administration.
• Maintain a spirit of volunteerism in alignment with SFCU’s values both internally and externally.
Requirements/Preferences
• A minimum of 18 years of age required.
• A valid driver’s license required.
• 10 years direct and relevant experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• A combination of relevant experience and education may be accepted.
